The Platters are a series of works that I started in 2002. They evolved during that time both in shape and scale and they continue to be an ongoing body of work. I see them as 3d canvases. Over the years I have explored an ecliptic body of source material in making this work from the colour field painters like Morris Louis to quilts and quilt makers and looking at the history of mosaic work. Each piece is a unique, one off piece. They are made using the fusing and slumping processes.
